Chef Ton (ธิติฏฐ์ ทัสสนาขจร), born Thitid Tassanakajohn, is a Thai chef and restaurateur who has elevated Thai cuisine to the global stage. As the owner of Le Du, Nusara, and Baan restaurants in Bangkok, he became the first Thai chef to lead a restaurant ranked No. 1 on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list, cementing his status as one of Asia’s most influential culinary figures.
Career
Despite holding a degree in economics from Chulalongkorn University, Chef Ton pursued his passion for cooking and moved to the United States to study culinary arts. During his time in New York, he trained at several Michelin-starred restaurants including Eleven Madison Park, The Modern, and Jean Georges. He also became a Certified Sommelier from the Court of Master Sommeliers. After returning to Thailand, he founded Le Du in Bangkok in 2013, focusing on modern Thai cuisine using seasonal local ingredients. He later expanded with Nusara, Baan, and Mayrai restaurants.
