HOW BIG IS Alyssa Thompson ON THE NET?
Alyssa has built a fast-growing international audience through the USWNT, club soccer, fashion, and major brand partnerships. Her social profile has expanded as her career moved from Los Angeles to one of Europe’s most visible women’s clubs, but this update avoids attaching an exact follower count where current trackers were not consistent enough.
HOW DID Alyssa Thompson become famous?
Alyssa became famous while still a teenager, earning U.S. national-team attention before beginning a conventional college career. Angel City selected her first overall in the 2023 NWSL Draft, making her one of the youngest top picks in league history, and she later moved to Chelsea.
BEFORE THE FAME
Raised in Southern California, Alyssa attended Harvard-Westlake and was an exceptional multi-sport athlete with elite sprinting ability. She and her younger sister Gisele developed through youth soccer together, and Alyssa’s pace quickly pushed her onto U.S. youth and senior national-team radars.

Alyssa’s soccer story is closely connected with her younger sister Gisele Thompson, another elite defender who also reached the professional level and U.S. national-team system. At international level, Alyssa has shared attacking environments with established USWNT stars, while her move to Chelsea placed her alongside some of the biggest names in European women’s football.
Personal LIFE and Relationship
Alyssa comes from a close athletic family and has spoken warmly about growing up alongside Gisele, with the sisters pushing one another while developing different positions and styles.
