HOW BIG IS Renée Downer ON THE NET?

Renée’s biggest digital reach comes through FLO’s shared official audience. The trio has accumulated hundreds of millions of streams and major social reach through Cardboard Box, Fly Girl, Walk Like This, and Access All Areas. Those group numbers should not be presented as Renée’s individual following.

HOW DID Renée Downer become famous?

Renée joined Jorja Douglas and Stella Quaresma to form FLO in 2019. The trio spent years developing before releasing Cardboard Box in 2022. Its viral success led to international attention, the BRIT Rising Star award, BBC Sound recognition, touring, and the 2024 debut album Access All Areas.

BEFORE THE FAME

Renée grew up in London and met Stella while attending the Sylvia Young Theatre School. That friendship existed before FLO, giving the eventual group an important personal foundation. She trained in performance and vocals before the trio spent years rehearsing and developing its sound away from public attention.

CLOSE WITH (ASSOCIATED);

Stella Quaresma was Renée’s school friend before they became bandmates, while Jorja Douglas completed FLO’s three-part lineup. Together they have collaborated with artists such as GloRilla and Missy Elliott, connecting the group with both contemporary rap and the R&B lineage that inspired them.

Personal LIFE and Relationship

Renée’s friendship with Stella predates FLO, which helps explain why the trio’s chemistry often feels more personal than a manufactured lineup. She has spoken with her bandmates about relationships, confidence, and navigating the industry as young Black British women. Her current romantic life is kept relatively private outside the themes discussed through the group’s music.
